Design has always been an integral part of my life. Growing up in South Africa during the apartheid era, we were isolated from much of the world, but I had the unique opportunity to travel abroad with my father, who was a pilot. These trips ignited my passion for design as I visited high-end international boutiques, captivated by the fabrics and craftsmanship. My love for textiles deepened, inspired by my mother, a talented hobby seamstress. This naturally led me to pursue fashion design right after school, eventually working as a fashion designer and expanding my skills in marketing, public relations, and personal styling.
In the '90s, I founded a small, conscious fashion brand, where I showcased my own creations—some of which clients cherished for 15 years! This experience sparked my interest in sustainable design. Later, in my 40s, while living in the Middle East and writing a monthly fashion editorial column for the country’s leading magazine, I researched the leather industry. This pivotal moment shifted my lifestyle to plant-based living and health coaching, broadening my perspective on making healthier daily choices.
In my interior design work, I specialise in residential space planning, thoughtfully selecting furnishings, objects, and original artwork, and executing the complete vision, down to the final styling.

If I had to sum up my design style in three words, they would be Simplified, Impactful, and Soulful. I believe that a healthier home environment starts with having less—focusing on pieces that bring joy and significance to our spaces. This not only curbs wasteful consumerism but also allows us to appreciate the items that truly matter. I’m passionate about incorporating vintage and pre-loved items into modern homes, particularly inspired by the timeless appeal of the mid-century modern era. Integrating key vintage pieces into contemporary spaces is, to me, the most authentic form of recycling, giving these beloved items new life.
I’m endlessly fascinated by the diverse design principles that emerge from different cultures around the world. Global travel has deepened my appreciation for European influences, and whether I’m exploring abroad or within the U.S., I love discovering charming neighbourhoods, vegan eateries, coffee roasters, and, of course, vintage stores. My family, along with Max, our 14-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, fills my heart with joy every day.

Two designers immediately come to mind: Sophie Ashby of @studioshby and Nicola Holden of @nicolaholdendesigns. Both have African roots, and they inspire me to develop and express my own sense of eclecticism.
I’ve recently completed two apartment projects on Lake Como, Italy. One involved a light renovation, while the other was a more extensive overhaul, including the kitchen, bathrooms, and more. Both were fully furnished and styled. Back home, I’m focusing on refining my business processes. Designing is a creative endeavour, but it’s only 50% of running a successful business—the other half is business management. At the core of my process is ensuring that my clients’ needs and experiences are met, which is as much about our systems as it is about the creative genius we deliver.
It’s never too late to start something new—whether it’s education, a career, or healthier lifestyle habits. Every experience adds value, and nothing is ever wasted. For me, interior design feels like a natural extension of my decades-long commitment to caring for others. My passion for creating simplified yet impactful spaces comes from years of connecting with and supporting others, whether in fashion design, styling, or health and lifestyle coaching.

Rooted in my South African heritage and a down-to-earth approach, I’m eager to connect with those curious about the benefits of living in a healthier home. I use the term “healthier” rather than “healthy” because everyone has different parameters and priorities. However, I believe we can all make meaningful improvements in our living spaces. My design goals are to create environments that are as charming and comfortable as they are healthier.
