So today is graduation day, and although excited, I must admit I am a little sad that this wonderful course has come to a grinding halt!
I thank my wonderful tutor Yun, who is based in Singapore, for offering me real-time and extremely responsive support - support that I will consider when opening my own business within the coming weeks!
I really loved the 'flow' of the course and how it began with background knowledge of design trends and then flowed into how you would actually support a client step by step in real life. It really helped me to understand what working as an interior designer will look like!

I wanted to take up a course earlier but did not find the right one where I had control over the pace. But last November, fortunately, I came across IDI, and the structure of the course suited me well, so I enrolled for it with the Darren Palmer Masterseries. It was the best decision ever!
The way each module was uncovered after the first one kept my curiosity high. The theory, videos and references in the modules were detailed and taught all the intricacies of design. The videos of Darren Palmer were very informative and put into perspective what I learnt in theory.
I am so glad that my tutor was Yun. He was very supportive throughout and guided me where needed. I took up a few advanced modules, and the feedbacks I received from tutors Deborah Atkins and Talin Leask were very encouraging.
One of the highlights was joining the student Facebook group. Interacting and reading about the journey of fellow students and seeing their work inspired me and kept me going.
I am confident of venturing on my own with a strong foundation of knowledge.
Interior design has always been a passion of mine. I knew I wanted to gain more knowledge and insight into this incredible industry. I decided to do something about it and enrolled in the Diploma course offered by The Interior Design Institute.
I found the course information, the website, and the module descriptions very informative and felt that this course was the right fit for me. It allowed me to learn on my own time at my own pace. My tutor was an invaluable help and source of support during my studies. His feedback on my assignments and quick responses were extremely helpful and helped me understand the lessons.
The program has taught me so much about design and has given me the confidence to start my own design business, Joseph J Murphy. I can now approach clients and jobs with confidence in my abilities.

Interior design is a great passion of mine. Studying with IDI has been a phenomenal and informative experience for me. It gave me the platform to turn my passion into something that I really love and enjoy doing so much into a career.

I studied the diploma course as well as two advanced modules in SketchUp and kitchen & bathroom design. IDI course is very well structured with strong teaching support and peer community.

Completing the IDI Diploma has been the realisation of a dream for me.
For so many years, I wanted to study interior design, but I always thought it would be too difficult to fit into my schedule as a flight attendant. However, the online learning allowed me to go at my own pace, and fully immerse myself in the curriculum. I feel I've learned so much, and every step of the way my tutor guided me to more success, whilst also wanting to bring the most out of my work.

Wow, what a journey! I began this course a little over 9 months ago, and it was an absolute pleasure. Being creative in nature is one thing, but this course meticulously provides a foundation to put creativity to life.
At times, I'm not going to lie, it was difficult to get through the assignments because studying and learning on your own is a whole other size than going to school and personally interacting with teachers and students. The process of learning was incredible, and I'm so grateful to have done this! Every time I faced an issue, my tutor was amazing, helpful and prompt with responses and with that making it as seamless as possible for me.

The desire of being an interior designer has been rooting in my heart for years. It certainly made my dream a lot closer when I found The Interior Design Institute on the internet.
Its 12 comprehensive modules are very well structured and it greatly broadened my horizon from the History of architecture to material finishes as well as commercial consideration.
I was also amazed by its fully online resources and platform where I could interact and be inspired by other students over the world. It is also very important that I could develop a solid network with people who have a similar passion.
My personal tutor, Ashley, also gave me invaluable insights and supports whenever I had questions. Her encouragement means a lot to drive me through the course. I was always looking forward to reading her comments after each assignment.

My passion for interior design goes beyond words.
I've been contemplating taking a course on interior design for a very long time, but the courses I looked into were way above my budget and my time was very limited. Then I came across The Interior Design Institute while searching for an online course. Taking this course was absolutely the best decision for me. Time is still not on my side since I started the course when my baby had just turned one year old. So being a mom of a young child and a full-time flight attendant for a major airline, I am extremely busy. However, the program at The Interior Design Institute is so flexible and organised that I was able to fit my school responsibilities into my personal life beautifully. I studied while my baby napped and also brought my computer and study materials to work, so I could study on my layovers. At the end of the course, I went through all the modules I studied and found to be unbelievable the amount of information and knowledge I acquired along the way.
Throughout the course my tutor provided me with invaluable feedback, and words of encouragement that really kept me going. I won't ever look at a room or the world the same again. Now I understand the concept of design, I learned how to combine colours for the best visual outcome, learned about textiles, lighting, architecture and much more. I can now put the pieces of the puzzle together with confidence. Studying at The Interior Design Institute was challenging, fun and an amazing experience. Now when I read and study my interior design magazines subscriptions and of course watch my favourite channel HGTV, my opinions are educated, I can evaluate my design tastes based on knowledge. I just want to thank all of you who put this wonderful program together at an accessible cost, so everyone who has an aspiration for interior design can benefit from it.

I have always been interested in interior design and I was thrilled to find out about this course, as it promised to provide the student with the insight and foundation of interior design with the ability for students to study at their own pace.
The course materials were well written and included "local examples" in order to make the reader able to relate and understand the information better. Not only that, in each chapter it would include practical examples along with the module, which helped teach me how an interior designer would think.
Each of the twelve assignments were clear and we could always ask for assistance when we did not understand the task well. My personal tutor and support team were always quick to reply and provided me with great assistance. This resulted in each assignment submission being a smooth experience for me.
I would strongly recommend this course for anyone that has an interest in Interior Design as this course will provide you with great knowledge through a flexible learning approach.
The Interior Design Institute has given me the knowledge and courage to pursue my dream career of being a professional interior designer. The course has provided me with an invaluable understanding of the interior design profession while allowing me to have hands-on experience in designing and planning and interior space with the modules so expertly devised.
It was a tough 12 months, especially with it being an online course. You will be tempted to procrastinate, however, if your passion for interior design is true, you will find a way to complete the modules within the given time.
The assistance given to me by my tutor and the student support team were immensely helpful to understand the modules better. I felt comfortable asking my tutor any questions I had. The comments my tutor gave were constructive and concise, allowing me to better grasp the concept the modules taught me.
Joining the IDI social media sites gave me a sense of belonging as I found comfort in knowing there were people all over the world, of all ages, doing the same modules as I am. Exchanging design ideas, networking and inspiring each other, students like me greatly supported each other in the groups as we made our own individual way through learning the craft.
With the confidence I gained from the IDI course, I was able to acquire a job in an interior design firm and the knowledge I gained greatly assisted me with the projects I have been doing so far for the firm.
