After spending four years as a design consultant, I made the decision to start the IDI course with the aim of advancing in the field of Interior Design.
The course proved to be incredibly informative, and its self-paced structure was ideal for balancing alongside my full-time job. Each module offered a unique perspective on interior design, enriching my knowledge in various aspects of the field.
Additionally, I completed the 'SketchUp Advanced Module', which was particularly beneficial in teaching me how to effectively utilise the software and create renders. As a result, I now have a portfolio that I am immensely proud of and the confidence to establish my own interior design business.
My tutor, Sophie Seeger, provided thorough feedback and valuable resources throughout the course. Overall, for those seeking a flexible option to progress in interior design, I highly recommend this course.
I am now ready to embark on my own venture, @moonandferninteriors, which I am creating with a fellow IDI student. Together, we're eager to offer a diverse range of interior design services to both residential and commercial spaces.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any inquiries about the course or our services through our Instagram account.

The training was amazing! The course quality and my tutor's advice were top-notch! I learnt so much and I am now confident enough to start my own business in interior design.
I was also recently selected as a contestant on the television show, ‘The Big Interiors Battle’, where I competed against other aspiring designers and apply the skills I learnt from the course!
You can watch a video interview I did with IDI here.

I started IDI in January 2020 and graduated by the end of the year. I found the course incredibly inspiring and a great starter pack to begin in the world of interior design. Due to COVID restrictions and lockdowns, it gave me free time in my schedule to study and put everything into my new career adventure.
Thanks to the portfolio I created while studying at IDI, I went on to begin work in a boutique London-based Design Studio, working my way up from an intern. This, again, was incredibly inspiring and assured me I wanted to push further and grow in this career adventure.
More recently, for the past year and a half, I have been working as a full-time Interior Designer at 1508 London, an award-winning, globally renowned Design company specialising in luxury design and architecture. Currently, I am working on dream residential and hospitality projects based in Dubai, working from the early concept design stages to completion.
Alongside this, I am beginning a solo business journey at @studioartislondon, focusing on luxury residential redesign. I am happy to answer any queries about the course via this account.
I must thank IDI for helping me at the beginning of this journey, and would recommend this course to anyone interested in pursuing a career change to interior design.
TOP TIP: If I could give any advice to those currently studying, it would be to enjoy the course as a starter pack, and once graduated, further your knowledge in AutoCAD and SketchUp as these are software we use daily (IDI offer further education courses in both). Thanks IDI!

I have found this course to be such a detailed, thorough and well thought out course. I have learnt so much not only about interior design but also the crucial elements of launching a design business, which I think is key to having the confidence to launch my own interior design business.
My tutor, Evette, was beyond excellent and has assisted and inspired me plus given me confidence every step of the way. The structure is easy to follow and incredibly detailed. I leave with a wealth of knowledge and excitement at what the future holds. Thanks so much!

I have really enjoyed the course and loved learning again. I feel I have learnt a lot of useful information from the course and can talk about design issues/queries with more confidence and knowledge. I am very creative and thought about starting my business without doing a course but just felt I should have more all-round knowledge and I also hope that clients will feel more confident in my abilities and trust me because I have studied and gained this qualification.

It was a pleasure to learn from this course.
I had been wanting to study interior design for a long time, but with work, travelling, and an overall busy lifestyle, I keep pushing away that desire.
Eventually, I came across The Interior Design Institute's website and instantly decided to enrol: I’m really glad I did, as not only did I manage to finish the course in 6 months time - as it was so easy to follow but insanely interesting and inspiring - but also finally expanded my knowledge in this area. With each module I felt more and more invested, making it such an amazing experience to advance, whilst learning new skills.
I'm very happy I found The Interior Design Institute, as it made it possible for me to do something I feel passionate about, and I'm looking forward to putting everything I've learned into practice.

After being involved with the design and decoration stages of our own self-build, I knew that I needed to choose to follow the career path of an interior designer. However, having recently had my first child and being a stay-at-home mum, I needed a way to kick-start my future-ready for when I returned to work after rearing our family. I jumped online and discovered the Diploma provided by The Interior Design Institute. Reading through the module outlines, I was already engaged and eager to learn.
The module layout and online interaction were perfect for my circumstance, and so I signed up immediately. I feel that I have learned so much and had questions answered through the course material and my very helpful tutor, Sophie Seeger. Having been to university and dealing with tutors face to face, I was anxious as to how successful the online interaction would be with my tutor, but Sophie was brilliant. She helped me feel welcome and was a fountain of knowledge.
I am so excited for the future and can't wait to implement what I have learned. I will continue designing for friends and family as a hobby until I return to work. This course has given me a major confidence boost, new knowledge, given me direction and kept my brain ticking whilst I've been a stay-at-home mother. I'm very grateful for the experience.

I enrolled with The Interior Design Institute to gain the relevant knowledge and tools to become an interior designer. I really liked the course, and the content was very informative.
I also really enjoyed the interaction with the other students and with my tutor. During the course, I had the opportunity to have my work featured on the social media of The Interior Design Institute and of a famous Australian interior designer. This was a great encouragement for me and has pushed me to always give the best and to pursue this as a career path.

I admit when I arrived in the UK, it took some time to look for an online course to satisfy my needs when it comes to studies in the field of interior design. After searching for about five months and asking many different questions to other online schools in the US and the UK, I made a decision to enrol with The Interior Design Institute as the price was at arms reach, and within my budget.
To my surprise I saw that it is not a simple Interior Design Institute, it is a well-organised team of professionals who are ready to help students become professional designers! During the study, I was extremely well supported and guided by my Tutor, and I developed new ideas that would have a real benefit in a 'real-life' design situation.
I did not think I could find high-quality service and professionalism that far exceeded the other institutions of its kind ... it dismantled the myth and has shown me that there are people from different countries who truly love what they do.
Now that I have finally completed the course, I feel fulfilled that I have accomplished this goal whilst also meeting fellow students through the Facebook Group, who have offered me incredible support and friendship.
I sincerely recommend The Institute with confidence and believe the success of the online course is largely due to the team of professionals who have worked on this project to the highest standard.
Canterbury
After leaving school, I studied for a foundation Art & Design degree at UCA in Canterbury, Kent, the UK, then proceeded to study for a BA in 3D Design at the University of the Arts London, Camberwell, which is where I really started to explore my passion for interiors, with my final project being a homeware collection hand drawn, hand printed and hand made by me.
When I left Uni, I pursued one of my other huge passions in life, travel. It took me on a journey all over the world for six incredible years! During this time, I soaked in the culture, nature and colours of these amazing places finding endless inspiration. So much so that on my return to the UK, I decided to embark on my interior design journey with The Interior Design Institute, which turned out to be hugely rewarding and really gave me the tools and the confidence to turn all my ideas into a reality. Although I have done many decorating projects in the past, I wanted to know about interior design at a deeper level to help my work be more professional and informed as I continue to progress.
Then our old friend Covid 19 decided to turn the world on its head, and I began to do small interior projects for friends and family (socially distanced, of course), gradually building my confidence and ability as well as my portfolio. This lead to my current opportunity and project, which is to completely re-design and re-decorate my boyfriend's family apartment in Lyon, France. Thanks to The Interior Design Institute, I have felt confident every step of the way, from an initial briefing with the client to mood boards and, finally, completion.
As previously mentioned, my design style is very much inspired by travel, incorporating nature, natural and eco-friendly materials with a bohemian, modern and slightly eclectic style. I love being able to transform an unloved or tired space into a fresh, functional and beautiful room that will continue to inspire the client for years to come, with my main focus being residential properties, AirBnBs and property styling for real estate. With global influences and inspiration on every corner, I have been able to find where my true passion lies, and that is in creating beautiful, functional, bohemian interiors.

I have just completed my interior design course with IDI. It has been extremely enjoyable. I decided to study with IDI because a family friend recommended the institute and I have found the modules very insightful. I have a degree in design but as I want to set up my own interior design company I wanted to gain more technical knowledge to ensure I didn’t fall short against my competitors.
The course was much more technical and in-depth than I expected and I feel extremely confident now with the technical jargon and fully understand the full process. I would recommend this course to others.

After a formidable choice of a career change, I decided I needed some further knowledge in the interior design industry. This course has been perfect for learning a chunk of the skills necessary to change my career. The courses cover all the basic skills you need, and if you need further knowledge, there is a good choice of further modules, of which I will be taking to improve my technical skills.
I would highly recommend this course if you are looking to make a change and can work around a busy life. I now feel confident about launching my own business in interior design.

Interior Design has been a passion I have longed to explore. I have spent most of my career in various sales roles, including three years as a legal recruitment consultant. I have always enjoyed looking at architecture, art and interior spaces.
I first thought about studying Interior Design after purchasing my house which required refurbishment and Interior Decoration work. I thought it would useful to have the technical knowledge and skills to transform the house into a beautiful home. Due to work commitments at the time I was unable to pursue any studies. However, last year I decided that life is too short to miss out on opportunities and it is imperative to follow your dreams and ambitions, thus prompting me to research potential online courses.
After reading the outline of the course and the testimonial page on The Interior Design Institutes' website, I just knew immediately that this was the right course for me.
I found the course comprehensive and thorough, leaving no stone unturned. This allowed me to gain employment within a residential interior design shop in the beginning, where I have benefited from having the opportunity to put colour schemes together. During the latter part of my course, I decided to approach a commercial design practice where I was successful in being offered a position. I believe the course has given me enviable experience and exposure to the world of residential and commercial interiors.
I have found the whole team a pleasure to deal with. The prompt response from the support team was especially impressive. Advice and feedback given to me from my wonderful tutor was really helpful and encouraging throughout the course, which enabled me to move onto the next module in confidence knowing I had truly understood the module and assignments required.
I am ecstatic about achieving my Diploma. Without this Diploma and experience of studying via distant learning, I would not have been able to realise my dream of becoming a professional Interior Designer.
I would recommend this course to any like-minded individuals thinking about studying through this method. My whole experience with The Interior Design Institute has exceeded my expectations of surpassing my goals of becoming qualified in the wonderful world of Interiors.

Studying at the interior design institute has not only sparked my passion for interior design even more so than before I enrolled but has thought me so much about the world of interior design.
I have loved every minute of studying at The Interior Design Institute, and it was nothing but helpful in all areas. All of the modules are inspiring and informative. I suffer from dyslexia, and all of the modules were clear and easy for me to understand and follow, so I would say that this course really suits everyone.
I was lucky enough to secure a job in interior design, so now, after graduating, I am happy to say I am a full-time interior designer for a well established interior design firm; this is all thanks to The Interior Design Institute. I couldn't thank my tutor Evette enough throughout my time at IDI; she has been so helpful and informative to any of the questions I asked. All of the feedback I got from my modules were constructive and extremely helpful to any further modules.
I would highly recommend this course to anybody that is considering entering the Interior world; whether it is for a hobby / personal project or considering pursuing a career, The Interior Design Institute is the place to study!
London
I have always had an interest in Interior Design but it was only until recently that I started to think about making it a career. I did some research and the only courses I was able to find were either full-time or part-time (1 day per week), as I work full-time this was never a possibility for me. Then I found The Interior Design Institute and could hardly believe my luck – I could study completely online in my own time…and it is affordable!
I got the money together and started the course and I can honestly say that I have not looked back! From my very first assignment, my whole way of thinking changed. When going out for dinner and staying at a hotel, I began drawing on everything I learnt and analysing design flaws and how to change them as well as studying beautiful designs and why they worked and looked good!
The modules are very comprehensive and move steadily through each design phase. Throughout the course, you are encouraged to scour the internet, design magazines, shops etc for interesting designs that inspire you. I embraced this with gusto and in my internet travels, came across some fantastic design blogs that provided endless creative inspiration. I have since ended up creating my own blog which not only serves as a catalogue for some of the amazing designs I come across every day but it is also a wonderful creative outlet for me!
I cannot thank my tutor enough, she was always prompt and concise when answering my questions and also went that step extra by giving me tips and advice on how she tackles obstacles in her role as a designer! I found this information invaluable and hope to draw on it in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. It was all relevant and concise, with great information provided that I have already been referring back to when I've been working on client assignments since completing the course.
It also seemed very current - teaching me the practices and theory I need for being an interior designer in the current day and age whilst giving me the confidence to present my design concepts to clients in a professional and creative manner.
I've also been able to use some of the assignments within my client presentation portfolio, so all my efforts to complete the course have been useful going forward. There was a practical and theoretical purpose to every module that made the whole course enjoyable and rewarding.

Like many IDI students, I have done many things in my life career-wise, but there has always been an underlying love of property and interiors. In 2006, I began a course in interior design at UCLA in California but switched to graphic design halfway through. When I moved back to the UK ten years later, I had a nagging regret that my real passion lay in interiors. I signed up for an online diploma course but struggled to find anything about it that I enjoyed, so I stopped after the first three modules. Years went by, and I created my own boutique home-staging company, but my desire for a diploma in interior design persisted.
One day, I was surfing the web and found a YouTube video posted by a designer who was describing why she had studied interior design at the Interior Design Institute. I was hooked. There was a link to IDI, and I went to the website and signed up there and then. Unlike the other interior design course, this one was fun, informative, and everything came alive for me again – as it did all those years ago at UCLA.
Some of the modules were more challenging than others, but I loved them all. Any time I was stuck, I messaged my personal tutor, Wendi Snyder, whose advice I found invaluable. Although it took me longer than I had anticipated, I am delighted to say that I graduated in just over a year. Although I miss downloading the next module, I am about to start my first advanced course and am very excited to continue my interior design journey with IDI.
To say IDI has changed my life sounds dramatic, but honestly, it’s true. I have regained my passion and my confidence, and I am excited to see where it takes me. I am proud to say that I am a qualified interior designer, if anyone asks, which was the one thing I never felt able to do. As the IDI course is recognized by SBID (Society of British and International Interior Design), I was able to have student membership and one year’s Associate Membership on graduating to continue on their CPD (continuing professional development) pathway.
My world is opening up, and it is all thanks to the IDI Diploma course in Interior Design – thank you!
London
Interior design has been a passion of mine for a very long time. However it’s always been on the sidelines. I never could quite get up the nerve to try it for real. After a significant episode in my life I made the decision to make a big career change. I wanted to concentrate my efforts on being an interior designer. Whilst I felt I had the necessary appetite, a good eye and a lot of knowledge about design, I needed a course that would help me to pull a number of different strands together. The Interior Design Institute course ticked all of my boxes - cost, breadth of curriculum, self-motivational working, and no strict deadlines.
I enjoyed the trajectory of the programme - it was structured and made sense. My favourite modules included the visual language of design, styles of design, furniture and the client. I enjoyed the fictional, but very practical and useful, client project that bridged several modules. My tutor, Alex Simpson, was helpful with his feedback, friendly and encouraging. With this course you really do need to be committed to completing the assignments. You won’t have anyone pushing you along, but that was a way of working that suited my style.
If the Interior Design Institute course did one thing for me, it was to affirm my belief that I’ll make a good interior designer. I don’t mean that it was all easy, but rather that it came naturally. It made sense and felt right. If there’s one area that I need to brush up on, it’s CAD. The course gave a brief introduction, but I do need to continue my learning here.
My intention was always to set up my own interior design business. I’ve now done this and I love the change of pace in my life. My company is called Walnut Grey Design and I launched my website in August 2011. I’m also blogging about design and interior design. I love to write and to talk about design, so my blog is a great outlet for me :-)...

I have learnt so much with the Diploma at IDI.
The course flows well and covers everything you need if you want to pursue a career in interior design, from spatial planning and colour to technical skills such as kitchen elevations.
Your tutor provides detailed feedback on every module, and there is a great support network in the Facebook group, both of which I found invaluable.
I have launched my online interior design business, and I am already securing clients both online and in person, which is a testament to the knowledge and experience I gained in the course.
High Peak
I recently completed this course with The Interior Design Institute, the course took me just over 6 months.
I can honestly say, choosing to go ahead with this course has been by far the best decision I've made in my life so far. I am 21 years old and have always been one of those people, who has never known what they wanted from a career and who has never enjoyed education. I have always had a creative side, I just never really knew what to do with it! However when I began this course, I knew from the offset, interior design was my calling.
As I mentioned, I was never one for studying, however I managed to complete this course 5 months quicker than planned, and that it simply down to the fact that I was addicted to it, I loved it! The support I have received throughout has been a god send, my tutor has been fantastic, the support team are so helpful and the support network between students is so motivating and inspiring. This course has opened so many doors that I would have never had without, plus I have managed to design some beautiful interiors for family members and friends, which is the best feeling ever and it is all down to this course.
I would describe this course in 3 words as, fun, challenging and rewarding... And inspiring! 3 words isn't enough. If you are thinking of signing up, GO FOR IT! You won't regret it.

I just loved this experience and the whole interior design course offered by The Interior Design Institute.
I am passionate about interior design and decorating. I have lived in 4 different countries in the last 6 years and these whole experience made me realize how important it is to have a place to call home. It has always been very interesting to me how people in different countries live and how they decorate their homes.
After studying marketing and law but with a passion for creativity, it was very clear to me that I want to make a career in the interior design field and fulfill a big dream of mine. I love to decorate, plan new spaces, and come up with sustainable, creative design ideas.
I am very happy that I finally followed my dream and completed this course, it was so much worth it! The modules are super informative, I learned way more than I excepted before and my tutor was also very nice, helpful and with her wide knowledge in the field of interior design she could always give me relevant feedback and she always inspired me to give my best.
Since graduation, I have started my own interior design business in Germany called Kaufmann Interiors focusing on residential, commercial and E-design projects.
I would very much recommend this course and encourage anyone who has an interest in interior design to no longer hesitate and start the course - trust me you won't regret it!
I love the fact that I am a qualified interior designer now, I couldn't be happier, thank you!

A year ago, I didn’t really know much about interior design, neither did I know that I would have developed an interest for it.
My creativity, and the will to learn something new, at a time when my life has turned stressful and monotonous, drove me to start looking closely to pictures showing beautiful and balanced interiors.
In no time, I became a fan of Architectural Digest, I loved the images they presented and I was especially intrigued about the ‘before and after’ shots and how surprisingly amazing the transformation of some dull and boring places into beautiful and functional spaces was!
The idea of acquiring this type of knowledge, looked appealing to me and I found myself searching for online courses. Eventually, I found The Interior Design Institute, and I felt instantly at ease reading through their website. This gave me the confidence to enrol and start my course.
This course has definitely changed the way I look at interiors, I have learnt a great deal and now that I have completed it and graduated, I feel accomplished and ready to start my new career as an interior designer.
Thank you to my tutor, for her guidance and feedback and to The Interior Design Institute for giving me the opportunity to channel my energy into discovering a new passion.

I have always had a passion for Interior Design. I was never able to fully indulge in this love until 18 months ago when I got married, then my husband and I renovated our first home together. At this time, I had just completed my Masters degree and was about to embark on a career in Social Work, but I knew that my heart wasn’t in it.
Whilst researching Interior Design techniques to help with our decorating, I came across the Interior Design Institute. At first I decided to take the course to help with our renovations, thinking that I would, at the very least, gain knowledge and learn new skills that I could use in my own home design and decorating. However, after completing the first two modules I was hooked and I knew that I really wanted to have a career in Interior Design.
The course is brilliantly structured and gives you a fantastic background knowledge of Interior Design. It culminates in advice and insider-information about how to set up a successful Interior Design business.
I loved working online to suit my schedule and I have been able to set up my business whilst completing the course.
I have designed and created my own website, have almost completed my first residential project and have secured a non-residential project to start this week – and I only completed my final course module three days ago!
I would like to thank my tutor who was fantastic in giving prompt, enthusiastic, encouraging and constructive feedback. I have thoroughly enjoyed gaining my Diploma and am looking forward to my new career in Interior Design – and most importantly to be doing something that I love every day.
Surrey
I started the course because I always had a great interest in interior design. Since I could remember I was moving furniture around and experimenting with interiors.
I finally decided to take the step and join a design course to learn more about it, but with a very demanding full-time job, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find something to accommodate my schedule.
I found The Interior Design Institute after extended research I did online and decided that it was the right course for me.The reading material, the assignments and my tutor were perfect. I did find the course quite challenging at times but my tutor was always there with advice and helpful tips. I really wasn't expecting to learn so much and feel so confident about what I can do now.
I really enjoyed doing the course and I have a great feeling of achievement now I finished it. I really can't wait to see what the future will bring as I'm bursting with ideas!

Following a 25 year involvement in the decorating industry I decided to concentrate more on a qualification in Interior Design, I looked around for the best solution that would fit in with my busy professional life.
I found that the course was not only professionally run but was also structurally sound, the flexibility it gave me to continue working made it perfect for me to achieve my goal.
Since graduation I have completed numerous commercial and domestic projects and now run my own practice which employs 3 designers and 4 technicians and I have also been appointed Interior Designer for Dulux Design Service!
I would encourage anyone with limited time but with lots of enthusiasm to undertake this course and I wish you well in the future.

Wow! What an amazing course! I have enjoyed every minute of this experience, the excellent tutor-student engagement and support, the detailed modules and the structure of the assignments, is that of a professional level.
I am planning to include my work in my first portfolio.
The student support services have been brilliantly helpful and understanding when needed to extend deadlines for personal reasons. I would recommend this course to anyone who is thinking of extending their knowledge in Interior Design, this course is for you.

I used to work for a finance company doing marketing which, as the years went on I found less and less interesting and I knew my heart wasn't in it. A few years ago I was involved in a pretty bad car accident and following that it made me realise that life is too short and you shouldn't be in a job you hate you should be doing what you love.
My passion has always been Interior Design, I used to do it as a hobby, then my brother opened up his own cafe and I did the Interior Design for him, then I realised I was pretty good and I decided to make this into my career and do something I enjoyed so much. So I decided I wanted to learn more about it and get a qualification in Interior Design.
So I did a Google search and the Interior Design Institute was top of the list, the course seemed just want I was looking and it was also very reasonably priced. So I decided to take a huge gamble using the money received in my crash compensation to leave my secure boring marketing job and I took a few months off and started the course.
I was enjoying it so much before I knew it I was halfway through, it didn't feel like a chore to have to do the assignments as I enjoyed them so much. I loved the detail of history it informs you about, how Interior Design came together from all the different cultures and how it formed its own identity against Architecture.
During the process of completing my modules I invested into my own Interior Design/Property Styling franchise, House Wow Ltd. During the set up of my business, the course was amazing as the modules seemed to coincide with where I was at in setting up the business, and it really encouraged me, it was also so convenient doing this via distance learning, as I could now fit the work around building the business.
I was very sad when I handed in my last assignment; I really enjoyed the assignments and was always eager and excited to find out what the next module was going to be about. I loved how it built the foundations of Interior Design from history to the present day.
I now run a successful franchise of House Wow Ltd in the West Yorkshire area, focusing on property styling, home staging and show homes and I am now so happy to be able to turn around and say that I love my job and that I am finally a qualified Interior Designer, all thanks to this course. Thank you.
Clapham
I am so happy to be able to write this testimonial for the Interior Design Institute and extend a massive thank you for a wonderful course, which not only gave me knowledge but confidence within myself to try something new.
I joined this course last summer and had a few concerns, these were that I have not studied for a long long time, never ever studied online, my computer skills were pretty non-existent, how hard would the course work be, what about support, what about being able to contact another human being without the aid of a telephone or face to face if anything went a bit wrong, etc…
Well I would like to say that all my concerns were put to rest, the staff from this Institute were and are fantastic. Yes something did go wrong due to my error and the Institute staff were on the case and I had a reply within 24 hours and problem solved with lots of email exchange to reassure me. Perfect!
During the course I had a lot of questions to ask and sent a lot of emails sometimes really nonsense ones however my tutor was amazing , he was so patient, he not only answered my silly questions but guided me to see logic, whilst supporting me and helping me to learn. Perfect! The online assignment work and submitting was great and was so simple and easy to use. Perfect!
I have nothing but good to say and lots of praise for the Interior Design Institute. The cost and payment options were fantastic - 10 out of 10, the course content brilliant and covered all angles - 10 out of 10, admin support spot on - 10 out of 10 and my tutor excellent again -10 out of 10!
I thoroughly enjoyed the course itself and learnt many new things, not only about interiors but about myself.
After finishing this course I have been offered a work placement with a Global Architecture, Design, Planning and Consulting Firm in London and have made a decision to carry on with Interior design as a hobby and assisting friends just to gain more experience on the ground whilst also placing a small advert within my local area to see who needs my help. Starting small and seeing where it all goes.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone and everyone and cannot praise the Interior Design Institute enough...

One year ago I was stuck in a menial office job, feeling really low and unmotivated. I decided to take make a drastic change and embark on a journey that would hopefully result in me having my dream career. I enrolled on this course and two months later left my job. It was the best thing I ever did!
I now work for an Italian high-end designer furniture retailer as the in-house designer. I regularly fly out to Italy for meetings, visit furniture fairs all over Europe such as the Milan Fair and it’s safe to say that every day is different from the last. It is the polar opposite of my previous job. I owe a great deal of gratitude to this course as it is because of this that I had the confidence to make the change. I hope to one day start my own design consultancy and can now honestly say that I feel prepared for this challenge.
The Interior Design Institute is fantastic, it covers all aspects of interior design in great detail but it is simplified and easy to read so that you don’t feel lost and overwhelmed. The support was also great. My tutor, Wendi was always there on hand to answer any question that the course generated and her feedback was always really constructive, motivational and knowledgeable.
I would certainly recommend the course to anyone remotely interested in starting out in the design industry. It has been fantastic.
Northwich
I really enjoyed this course and was amazed at how much I learned during the past few months.
I initially applied because I thought I might want to work in the field of interior design, but now, after finishing the last module, I am sure of it! I was hesitating between different interior design courses, but I am so glad that I chose The Interior Design Institute!
The modules were not only enjoyable, but they provided USEFUL information - the kind that I'm sure will be a big help in the future as an interior designer. My tutor was super nice, and helpful and had amazing ideas on how I could improve my work, and the community was also very inspiring and motivating! It was so good to read all the IDI student success stories, as I'm hoping to become one of them!
I already had some "clients" - friends and family - who needed help with the renovation and/or styling of their homes, and I was fascinated by how everything made more sense (than before the course) during the work process, and this way I could provide quality work for them.
This is why I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who is interested in interior design - those, who want to become professionals, and even those, who only want to improve their own homes.

Whilst I was studying at college, I realised that I wanted to focus on Interior Design. When entering a home for the first time, I immediately looked and evaluated the décor. That’s when I knew that I had to get a Diploma in Interior Design. As I was still studying, I needed an online course that was professional, flexible and affordable and that’s when I found The Interior Design Institute.
Support from the family hasn’t always been there as they don’t believe that ‘art’ can get you anywhere in life. However, I set out to prove them wrong and immediately enrolled in the course. It was difficult at times to balance college work with the course but knowing that I was going to be able to do something I loved kept me going.
The diversity of the course has widened my knowledge to the interiors around the world. I hope to one day visit many places of the world to get invaluable inspiration in order to design unique homes. I also found that the support from tutors was always there and they would help me whenever I needed it.
Since graduation, I have started an Interior Design business in Jersey called ‘Divine Dezigns’ focusing on commercial and residential design. We offer our services worldwide, we create sample boards and design schemes that can be posted directly to their door.
I encourage anyone looking for an Interior Design Course to enrol now at The Interior Design Institute. Trust me, it's invaluable.

I loved the course – Interior Design has always been a passion of mine.
My intention before I began the course was to set-up an Interior Design consultancy. For me to do this I really wanted to study and get qualified. After doing a lot of research I felt the Interior Design Institute course was the best course available as the course had been written and constructed by professionals.
I found the course was informative, interesting and provided essential information for anyone considering a career in this field. I loved the fact that you could study at your own pace and have the support of your tutor. The course required hard work and commitment, but you would expect that.
After spending many years in ‘corporate’ roles and after having my daughter I wanted to create a business that I am passionate about and can build around my family. The Interior Design Institute course has given me the foundations to go and set-up my business. My tutor was fabulous and very much ‘with me’ every step of the way.
I believe anything is possible if you are prepared to put in the work.

After starting my own Property Development Company in 2004 and completing many projects, both new build and refurbishments, I created, designed and dressed all our show houses in each development both in the U.K and abroad. I found that a great deal of interest was generated for my interiors as well as our build quality, both contemporary and traditional.
After being inspired by such positive feedback, I started making enquiries about achieving a Diploma in Interior Design online. Several of my friends and contacts in the property world highly recommended The Interior Design Institute. After reading the prospectus I was greatly impressed, so I enrolled and commenced my Diploma.
It has taken me longer than expected to complete the course with my other business commitments but I did as much as I could in any spare time I had.I found each and every module and assignment thoroughly enjoyable and extremely informative.
My tutor was a great inspiration to me, marking each assignment as soon as I completed them and giving constructive comments and advice that I found invaluable. Her expertise is second to none.
This is the best thing I have done in years; I wish I had done it years ago.
Anyone interested in Interior Design and how it has evolved over the years to where we are today should enrol ASAP whether as a career or as a hobby.
I have also started my own design practice “Philip Mark Interior Design Ltd", which is proving to be a success and the Design Institute has given me the knowledge, confidence and ability to be successful in the Interior Design world.
